The newborn days have a way of passing in a blur. One minute you're soaking in tiny stretches, sleepy cuddles and milk-drunk smiles, and before you know it, everything has changed.
My in-home newborn sessions are designed to slow things down and preserve this season exactly as it feels right now. Relaxed, natural and centred around connection, with no pressure to have a perfect home or a perfectly settled baby.
What are the benefits of in-home newborn photography?
Those first few weeks with a newborn can feel beautifully chaotic, and leaving the house with a tiny baby is often the last thing you feel like doing.
That is why my sessions are designed to be simple and relaxed. I come to you and gently work around the natural rhythm of your family, allowing plenty of time for feeds, cuddles and settling whenever needed.
Most sessions take place in a few simple spaces around your home, usually the bedroom, nursery or wherever the light is best. There is no pressure for your home to look perfect. The focus is simply on connection and preserving this season as it really felt.
Newborn photography for Blue Mountains families wanting real moments
My sessions are relaxed and gently guided, with plenty of space for real moments to unfold naturally. There is no pressure for your baby to sleep the entire time or for everything to go perfectly.
Some of my favourite images are often the in-between moments. A stretch, a yawn, your baby curled up in your arms or the way everyone naturally settles in together at home.
The goal is simply to preserve this season in a way that feels honest and true to your family.
When should I book newborn photos?
For families hoping for those sleepy, curled-up newborn images, I usually recommend booking your session within the first couple of weeks after birth.
That said, my relaxed and lifestyle-focused approach means there is far more flexibility than with traditional posed newborn photography.
The best time to book is while you're still pregnant. Most families reach out around 3 to 5 months before their due date so I can reserve space, then we confirm the exact timing once baby arrives
FAQ
What if my baby doesn't sleep?
That is completely okay. Lifestyle newborn photography does not rely on your baby sleeping the entire time. Awake moments can be just as beautiful.
Do I need a perfectly clean house?
Not at all. I promise I am looking for light and connection, not spotless benchtops. We usually use one or two rooms and I gently work around your space.
Can siblings be included?
Absolutely. Sibling cuddles and family connection are a huge part of these sessions.
